I. Preparations
Raw material selection of yarn
Selecting yarn: cotton yarn, polyester yarn, acrylic yarn, blended yarn, spandex core yarn, etc.
Determining yarn count, color, and thickness according to the pattern requirements, and dyeing them into the required color yarns in advance.
Pattern design and drafting
Designer draws jacquard patterns/ornaments (geometric, stripes, cartoons, LOGOs, etc.)
Importing jacquard drafting software, splitting colors, arranging patterns, and circularly arranging
Converting into machine-readable pattern programs (horizontal loom/round loom-specific)
Machine debugging
According to the fabric weight, width, and texture, adjusting needle spacing, density, number of weaves, and the number of spout holes;
Reserving the corresponding number of spout groups for multi-color jacquard.
II. Machine weaving (core jacquard process)
1. Hanging and threading yarns
Putting different colored yarns into corresponding spout holes, one color corresponding to one spout hole.
2. Computer-controlled needle selection
Jacquard principle:
Computer selects needles → Lift and weave the needle that will form the pattern → The needles not involved in the pattern do not weave
Different color spout holes alternate to supply yarns, interweaving to form concave/colored patterns.
3. Weaving and shaping
Single-sided jacquard: There is a pattern on the front, and the back has floating lines
Double-sided jacquard: Both the front and back have patterns, the back has no long floating lines, and it is thicker and more stable
The machine weaves according to the pattern program in a circular manner, automatically weaving the entire jacquard fabric.
III. Post-machine semi-finished product processing
Unwinding and rolling up the fabric
The woven jacquard blank fabric is automatically rolled up and taken off the machine.
Inspecting the fabric
Checking: missed stitches, holes, color misalignment, color difference, straightness of texture, etc.
IV. Post-processing
Pre-shrinking and setting
High-temperature setting to stabilize the width, weight, and prevent shrinkage, fixing the jacquard patterns without deformation.
Water softening
Removing the spinning sizing and oil stains, making the fabric surface soft and removing the hard feeling.
Drying
Roller drying to restore the fabric's fluffiness.
Finished fabric rolling, folding
Re-inspecting the appearance, pattern alignment, color consistency, and packaging into finished fabric rolls.
V. Cutting and sewing (to make finished clothing/supplies)
Jacquard blank fabric → Cutting garment pieces/ribbing/necklines/sock tubes → Sewing and joining → Ironing → Finished product.
A simple principle: First, design the pattern and split the colors → Separate the multi-color yarns into spout holes → Computer selects needles, alternating to supply yarns → Knit and interweave the patterns → Set, water softening, and finish into fabric.
