The underlying logic behind weight
The reasons for the weight can be classified as good or bad.
- High-quality weight: The natural rubber has high purity, solid materials, and uniform wall thickness (meeting national standards of ≥0.8mm). This type of heavy weight feels firm and elastic, and is a good performance.
- Poor-quality weight: It contains heavy calcium, recycled rubber and other impurities. Although it increases the weight, the rubber has poor toughness and is prone to aging and leakage. It may also emit an unpleasant smell.
3. The balance between weight and practicality
- A heavy hot water bag will increase the burden of use (such as carrying or placing), and if the rubber is too thick and of poor quality, it is more likely to crack when bent, which reduces safety.
- A qualified natural rubber hot water bag has an appropriate weight and a soft, rebounding feel. It is not necessarily the heavier the better.
Simple judgment method
- Weigh and Press: For the same size, the best option is one with a moderate weight and a soft, quick-rebounding texture; anything overly heavy and with a stiff, non-elastic feel is likely to have impurities.
- Smell: High-quality natural rubber has almost no odor. Products with a pungent rubber smell or any unpleasant odor are usually made from recycled rubber. Even if they are heavy, it is not recommended to choose them.
