When choosing a hot water bag, the key points are to first determine the type, then ensure safety, and finally consider the material and capacity.
1. First, choose the type: Charging vs. Watering
- Rechargeable (electric heating wire/electric heating tube type): Choose this option if you prefer a convenient setup and quick heating.
- Must-check safety items: Make sure to look for 3C certification and the national standard GB 4706.99-2009. Do not purchase electrode-type (which feels like a hard cylinder when pressed) or those that require water injection. Opt for the electric heating wire/electric heating tube type with a duckbill-style explosion-proof clamp and automatic power-off.
- Note: When charging, lie flat, turn off immediately when fully charged, and do not use if there is any expansion.
- Water-filled type (rubber/PVC): Choose this option if you are concerned about electrical safety and want a warm and long-lasting product.
- Must-check safety items: Select a screw cap (instead of a plug-in type to prevent leakage), and use a thicker material (≥2mm). Test for leakage by soaking a new bag in cold water overnight.
- Note: The water temperature should not exceed 90℃, and do not fill it too full (about three-quarters is sufficient).
2. Select the material and capacity again
1. Material: Natural rubber is the most durable but has a rubbery smell; thickened PVC (without phthalates) or food-grade silicone is softer and odorless.
2. Capacity: For hand warming/commuting, choose 500-1000ml; for foot warming/bed warming/heating pad, choose 2000ml for longer duration.
3. Plus points: Comes with a detachable washable plush cover, which can both keep warmth and prevent cold burns.
III. Choose According to Needs, More Accurate
- For the elderly or children: The water-filled type is the preferred choice. Safety comes first.
- Before going to bed to warm the bed and when hands and feet are cold: The water-filled type with 2000ml capacity provides better heat retention and a more comfortable warm sensation.
- For quick heating and office use: The electric heating wire rechargeable type heats up within a few minutes and stops working when used.
Summary:
Type determines safety, material indicates health, capacity suits the scenario.
